Struisbaai, South Africa, is a quaint coastal village situated at the Southern Most Point of Africa.
Struisbaai has a mix of permanent residents and holiday homes and has the longest continuous stretch of white sand coastline in the Southern Hemisphere.
Struisbaai is part of a very small coastal 'metropolis' consisting of Struisbaai, Cape Agulhas, and Suiderstrand. These three sea side villages can definitely be considered the best sea side villages in South Africa.
One of the most unique aspects of these three villages is that there is no 'through traffic'. Struisbaai, Cape Agulhas and Suidestrand are at the end of a 30 km road from Bredasdorp (which is inland). Therefore there is no traffic passing through along the coast, making these coastal villages much less 'commercial' and contributing greatly to the scenic beauty, the 'peace of the place' and almost zero crime levels.
To be sure, these villages are busy during season, but have not become sardine cans -- unlike so many sea side towns where tasteless hordes of people decend during school holidays and December.

If you are travelling to South Africa, or from inland, and are planning your Travel Route, then Struisbaai, in the beautiful scenic Western Cape, is certainly an excellent Tourist and Travel Destination - the main tourism attraction being the Southern Most Tip of Africa (Cape Agulhas).
Struisbaai is only 200km from Cape Town and is enroute to the Garden Route and the famous Route 62.
